ひとつのかたち。
KABUは、大地に根を張り、長い時間を生きた樹木の「切り株」から着想したスツールです。四方へ柔らかく張り出す輪郭と、幹を切り出したような上面。一層ずつ積み重なる造形の軌跡は、樹木が年月を重ねることで刻まれる年輪のように、ものが生まれる時間そのものを表面に残します。「KABU（株）」という名に込めたのは、樹木の姿をそのまま模倣するのではなく、大地から生まれ、成長し、かたちを変えながら、再び人の暮らしへとつながっていく植物の記憶。植物由来の素材を、一層ずつ積み重ねてつくる。自然が時間を重ねて木を育てるように、デジタルファブリケーションもまた、時間を重ねながらひとつのかたちをつくります。ひとつ置けば、腰を下ろす小さな居場所に。いくつか並べれば、切り株が点在する森のような風景に。KABUは、自然が重ねてきた時間を、現代の空間へとつなぎます。

where a tree once stood.
KABU is a sculptural stool inspired by the tree stump — the quiet trace of a tree that has grown from the earth over many years.Its silhouette gently expands in four directions, while the layered pattern across its surface recalls the growth rings revealed when a tree is cut. Each deposited layer records the process of making, much like the rings of a tree record the passage of time.The name KABU derives from the Japanese word for the base or stump of a tree. Rather than literally imitating nature, the form carries a memory of it — born from the earth, grown over time, transformed, and returned to everyday life in a new form.Made from plant-based material, KABU is built gradually, one layer at a time. Just as nature forms a tree through the accumulation of time, digital fabrication creates the object through an accumulation of layers.One becomes a small place to sit.Several begin to form a landscape, like tree stumps scattered through a forest.KABU carries the passage of time in nature into contemporary space.

Illuminated configurations require electrical equipment appropriate for the installation environment.
For outdoor illuminated use, appropriate waterproof and weather-resistant electrical specifications are required.
When used as a stool, place the product on a stable, level surface.
Do not stand or jump on the product.
The bottom surface may become scratched depending on the installation environment.
