IWAは、長い年月の中で風や水に削られ、割れ、姿を変えていく岩肌から着想したカウンターです。大小の面が不規則に折れ重なり、ひとつの大きな量塊を形づくる。均一に整えられていないその表情は、見る位置や光の角度によって陰影を変え、自然の中から切り出された岩塊のような存在感を生み出します。「IWA（巌）」という名に込めたのは、自然が長い時間をかけて生み出す、完全には制御されていないかたちへの敬意。植物由来の素材を一層ずつ積み重ね、デジタルファブリケーションによって緻密に形づくりながら、あえて均質さから離れ、岩肌のような不規則な面を造形として残しました。整えるのではなく、削り出す。装飾するのではなく、素材そのものを景色にする。IWAは、空間の中にひとつの地形をつくります。

IWA is a sculptural counter inspired by rock surfaces gradually shaped by wind, water, fracture, and time.Irregular planes of different scales fold and intersect to create a single monolithic volume. Rather than presenting a perfectly uniform surface, its shifting facets respond to light and perspective, giving the piece the quiet yet powerful presence of stone carved from the landscape.The name IWA means “rock” in Japanese, evoking the monumental character of 巌 — a great mass of natural stone.Built layer by layer from plant-based material and precisely shaped through digital fabrication, IWA deliberately moves away from mechanical uniformity, preserving the irregularity of natural rock as part of its expression.Not polished into perfection, but carved into character.Not decorated, but allowed to become a landscape of its own.IWA brings a fragment of terrain into the architecture.
